Tune In To CaseWatch for Singapore Court Cases
Businessmen will now be able to access up-to-date information on lawsuits affecting their business partners and competitors through a new service called CaseWatch.

Jointly developed by the Supreme Court and CrimsonLogic, the online tracking mechanism may be used by anyone requiring additional market intelligence on competitors or seeking to minimize risks of default of customers and clients.

CaseWatch will provide information, via email alert, relating to any court action involving the target name monitored such as:

  • the party information (e.g. identities of the Plaintiff/Defendant)
  • the suit number, and
  • the case type

CaseWatch draws its information directly from the databases of the Singapore Courts and is able to notify the relevant users within four hours of the Court approving the commencement of a court action. The timely alerts mark a departure from the previous practice of repeated or ad hoc litigation searches made on the status of a company's legal position. The service allows subscribers to take preventive and pro-active measures to protect and enforce their legal rights.

Says Mr Toh Han Li, Senior Assistant Registrar, Supreme Court, "The information which CaseWatch provides will give subscribers that extra bit of competitive advantage needed in a knowledge-based economy."

Says Mr V Mathivanan, CEO of CrimsonLogic, "This is the new business environment where you pay attention to exceptions by proactive systems such as CaseWatch. CaseWatch provides another dimension of up-to-date market intelligence. Previously, there was no way of tracking such information except by paying for constant multiple searches in the Court's database."

Companies can start monitoring a range of target names from 10 to 1000 with just three easy steps to get started: subscribe to CaseWatch on www.casewatch.com.sg, choose a suitable subscription plan and finally enter the search data required.

In its second release at end of March 2003, CaseWatch will also feature SMS alerts and an option to track the development of a court action through the documents filed with the Courts. This will augment the already existing SMS services provided for Court replies and service of documents in the Electronic Filing System (EFS) which is the Courts' paperless litigation system.

CaseWatch is another value-added and trusted service provided by CrimsonLogic in collaboration with the Supreme Court of Singapore. CrimsonLogic is the developer and service provider of a nationwide paperless litigation system and litigation search service since 1995.
