A prescription to better medical benefits management
FlexiClaims, a CrimsonLogic-initiated solution, was launched together with partner Integrated Health Plans (IHP) on 21 May 2002.

It enables IHP's panel of 300 clinics to access the data of some 80,000 employees from 500 companies.

FlexiClaims is a web-based system that streamlines operations and increases the overall efficiency of corporations, managed healthcare organizations, insurance companies and clinics.

The system automates the outpatient claims process and promotes the efficient management of patient information including medical benefit entitlement and detailed visitation records. The system also doubles up as a repository of information promoting the better management of medical benefits and records.

There are several benefits that accompany this web-based system; updating of medical benefit schemes anytime, anywhere; reflection of such changes within 24 hours; shorter processing time from months to days; and lower investment cost with no huge start-up fee.

In addition, by outsourcing the support services, such as helpdesk and training, to CrimsonLogic, insurance companies can save considerably on investment and administrative costs. The time saved from these allows them to focus on their core competencies.

FlexiClaims is a highly scalable and flexible solution and is not limited for use in Singapore alone. It permits managed healthcare organizations and insurance companies to expand their services and connectivity beyond the local scene into the international arena.

Since the launch of the system, FlexiClaims has received extensive media coverage, such as SME-IT Guide, Computerworld, Business Times as well as Computer Times, on how the system revolutionises outpatient claims processing.

Introduction
Today we see the coming together of two industry leaders: IHP, a leading managed healthcare provider, and CrimsonLogic, a premier applications service provider in the local and international IT scene. Through this IHP-CrimsonLogic alliance, we have become one of the largest players in the outpatient sector of the healthcare industry, leveraging on each other's strengths to deliver quality services.

CrimsonLogic's strength lies in developing secure, easy-to-use IT solution and services for the trade and logistics, healthcare, government and legal industries. Since our inception 14 years ago in 1988, we have developed more that 20 successful B2B and B2G solutions, 3 of which are world firsts- TradeNet, Electronic Filing System for the judiciary and eStamping.

Added to this is our existing suite of healthcare solutions which includes an appointment and referral system for GPs, specialists and hospitals. We also developed a service that employs wireless technology to transmit data from an ambulance to the hospital's Accident and Emergency department, prior to the patient's admission.

And now, together with IHP, we can include another web-based system to our list. FlexiClaims is an online outpatient claims processing system that streamlines and automates the claims process, making it more convenient, quicker and simpler.

Clinic assistants and GPs also have a quick and convenient point of reference for checking entitlements and visitation history. This cross-border capability poses an important opportunity not only for IHP but also for international companies. Beyond FlexiClaims
Although we are proud of the FlexiClaims solution, our efforts are not going to stop here. The CrimsonLogic healthcare team is currently looking into a clinic management system that will eventually integrated with FlexiClaims. This new clinic system will help simplify the lives of clinic assistants who, at this point in time, switch from one claims process to another depending on the service provider.

We are also considering the use of a web-based tablet PC with touch screen capabilities to promote greater convenience and ease of use. In the end, CrimsonLogic aims to make life simpler by developing such solution that will revolutionise the way we work.
