Guangzhou Customs announced that from 30 July 2003, all
river carriers (with or without GPS installation) plying
the Pearl River Delta and Hong Kong waterways are required
to submit manifests through the China interactive declaration
service platform's "Cargo Manifest Electronic Input
System". The manifests can also be submitted in advance
outside Guangzhou using services provided by shipping companies
or Tradelink.
To facilitate the implementation of the Guangzhou Customs'
requirement of manifest declaration, Tradelink has set up
Service Centres for Hong Kong river carriers' to complete
in advance the electronic submission of cargo manifests.
The service is provided on a 24-hour basis.
Customers using the service can choose to submit their
cargo manifests in person to Tradelink Service Centres located
at Mong Kok or Sheung Wan. Alternatively, customers can
submit manifests by fax. To submit cargo manifests by fax,
prior registration is required.
