Tradelink's Automated Manifest Service(AMS) offers a complete
solution in which shippers, carriers, and non-vessel operating
common carriers (NVOCCs) can use to submit cargo information
to U.S. Customs Department, 24 hours prior to the lading
of US-bound cargoes at foreign ports.
Tradelink launched its Automated Manifest Service in January
2003 to facilitate compliance with the U.S. Customs 24-hour
rule. Since then, the service has been incorporated with
user-friendly functions to enhance convenience and efficiency.
Fundamentally, the complete solution of the Automated Manifest
Service allows for:
-
Integration
of the AMS with Tradelink's Shipping Order service so
that carriers and NVOCCs can obtain cargo information
from shippers electronically; and
- Inter-connected
with the Hong Kong Customs Department for automatic manifest
forwarding of shipment departing from Hong Kong.
With the complete solution, users will now be able to prepare
and submit accurate and timely maritime cargo manifest information
to the authorities by using newly-added and enhanced features
such as e-mail notification, import/export interface, document
amendment, move voyage, etc.
Feature Highlights
- E-mail
Notification Function
This function enables users to specify response messages
received in the AMS Inbox to be delivered to assigned
email address(es). This gives users the flexibility to
receive the predefined message set without logging into
the AMS.
- Import
& Export Function
To facilitate large volume of users with their own in-house
system, this feature permits the interchanging of data
between the systems. Users can import bill of lading from
its own in-house system via the import interface in AMS
and subsequently reuse the imported data to lodge AMS
documents.
If the user also subscribes for Tradelink's Shipping Order
(SO) service, the Shipping Order messages received in
the AMS can then be exported to user's backend system
for subsequent preparation of bill of lading or further
data processing. These functions lessen the risk of human
error as the manual input of the same data is omitted.
- Amendment
Function
The amendment function allows users to add new bill of
lading, delete application, replace total quantity or
revise contents of submitted bills. The interface is designed
to allow users to handle all types of document amendments
at the same time.
- Move
Voyage Function
There are times when a shipment will need to be moved
from a voyage to another along the way to the destination
port. In such cases, a new manifest is required. Using
Tradelink's AMS, users can simply fill in the new voyage
information online or import existing data of the new
voyage from their systems to complete the new manifest.
- Forwarding
Function to the Hong Kong Customs
Tradelink's AMS is equipped to extract and forward manifests
to Hong Kong Customs for shipment departing from Hong
Kong. The entire forwarding process is automatically triggered
by the system without user intervention, thus creating
an efficient and hassle-free environment for our customers.
