(6th November, 2002 Hong Kong) Tradelink Electronic Commerce
Limited and the China International Electronic Commerce
Centre announced today at a press conference held in Guangzhou
the launch of the first Hong Kong-China Synchronised Information
Management System for traders and manufacturers from both
Hong Kong and China to handle cross-border documentation
and transactions more efficiently and effectively with the
use of electronic commerce service.
As a transaction platform, JingMao-Link will facilitate
traders and manufacturers engaged in China Processing Trade
Scheme and HKSAR Outward Processing Arrangement to manage
business information and generate related commercial, transportation
and statutory documents in a more efficient manner.
Tradelink is a joint venture of the Hong Kong SAR government
and the private sector whose shareholders are all key players
in the local trading community. Its mission is to promote
the use and development of electronic commerce services
in Hong Kong as an important means of helping the trading
community to stay competitive internationally.
China International Electronic Commerce Centre is a subsidiary
of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation
(MOFTEC). Its mission is to enhance trade efficiency and
simplify trade procedures, increase trade opportunities
and reduce trade cost by providing a network environment
suitable for the application of electronic commerce technologies
of international trade.
Mr. Justin Yue, Tradelink CEO, said, "Tradelink and

JingMao-Link will be introduced by phases, and the cities
in the Guangdong Province including Guangzhou, Panyu, Foshan,
Jiangmen, Zhongshan and Zuhai will be covered in the first
phase. More cities will be added in future.
