(Hong Kong, 9 January 2004) Tradelink Electronic Commerce
Limited announced the appointment of Dr Harry Lee Nai Shee
as Chairman, effective from 8 January 2004, replacing Miss
Denise Yue. Dr. Lee is Tradelink's first non-Government
chairman since its restructuring in 1996.
Dr Harry Lee Nai Shee, SBS, JP, was educated in both the
United Kingdom and the United States of America. He returned
to the Far East in 1973 to join Textile Alliance Limited
(TAL) in Malaysia. At the end of 1979, Dr Lee returned to
Hong Kong to join TAL headquarters' garment manufacturing
division. Through restructuring in 1983, TAL's garment division
became an independent operation. Dr Lee was appointed the
Managing Director of this new company, TAL Apparel Limited,
which employed over 21,000 employees.
Dr Lee is actively involved in a number of trade organizations
in Hong Kong. He is the Chairman of Innovation & Technology
Fund (Textiles Projects) Vetting Committee, Honorary Chairman
of the Hong Kong Garment Manufacturer's Association, as
well as Vice Chairman of Textile Council of Hong Kong Ltd.
He is also the member of the Textiles Advisory Board.
