In reference to the Notice to Exporters issued by the Trade
and Industry Department on 15 October 2004, customers are
reminded that all quantitative restrictions on textiles and
clothing products among Members of the WTO (including Hong
Kong) will come to an end by 1 January 2005. As a result,
customers should note the special arrangements effective from

The Census and Statistics Department announced that the Hong
Kong Imports and Exports Classification List (Harmonised System)
amendments in 2005 would take effect as from 1 January 2005.
With the amendments, 250 new codes will be added and 101 will
