Tradelink announced the appointment of Dr Harry Lee Nai Shee as Chairman, effective from 8 January 2004, replacing Miss Denise Yue. Dr. Lee is Tradelink's first non-Government chairman since its restructuring in 1996. Full story.
 

Tradelink and the Panyu Foreign Economic & Trade Cooperation Bureau signed a cooperative agreement to promote the Jiangmao-link service in Panyu to strengthen the trade relationship between Hong Kong and the Mainland and facilitate the initiatives of Close Economic Partnership Arrangement (CEPA). The Census and Statistics Department announced the Hong Kong Imports and Exports Classification List (Harmonised System) amendments for 2004, which take effect as from 1 January 2004. Click here for details.
 

Traders can apply for a Certificate of Hong Kong Origin - CEPA ("CO(CEPA)") in the initial phase of tariff preference under CEPA with immediate effect. All applications for CO (CEPA) should be submitted via Tradelink electronic services. Tradelink will provide a free software upgrade to customers who need to apply CO(CEPA).
